When was the last time you experienced agitation, frustration, anxiety or worry.

Peace is a wonderful thing.  We all know what it is like to not have it.  When was the last time you experienced agitation, frustration, anxiety or worry.  It makes you realize just how great peace is.  Sadly as the Bible repeatedly says, “There is no peace for the wicked.”  Thankfully there is peace found in the gospel through Jesus Christ.  But there are two different kinds.  There is peace with God and there is the peace of God.  Peace with God comes through faith in Christ and the knowledge that through Him sins are forgiven.  All is settled between you and God.  But the peace of God amidst the storms of life is often a little more difficult thing to grasp.  It comes as you grow in faith and the knowledge of the faithfulness of God.  Bible Scholar A.T. Pierson said, “It is a deep calm which lies far too deep in the praying, trusting soul to be reached by any external disturbance.”  He compared it to a submarine below the ocean’s surface that isn’t rattled by the storm above.  Oh, to know this peace!  Isaiah 26:3-4 offers a pathway to it.  It reads, “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is fixed on You because he trusts in You.  Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock eternal.”
